Easy cheese scones with smoked sea salt

Ingredients

225g self raising flour
55g chilled butter
110g grated cheese (we used mature cheddar)
100ml milk
Pinch of cayenne pepper
Large pinch of Smoked Cornish Sea Salt Flakes
1 tsp baking powder

Instructions

Pre heat the oven to 200c/180 fan with baking tray inside. Add sifted flour, baking powder, Cornish Sea Salt smoked flakes and cayenne pepper to a large bowl.

Add the butter and combine with fingertips then add the cheese (saving some for the top) and combine. Make a well in the centre and gradually add your milk to create a firm dough.

Flour your worktop and roll out the dough to 2cm thick. Cut out the scones, place on baking paper and glaze with milk and add the remaining cheese and a sprinkle of smoked sea salt.

Bake for 15 – 20 mins or until golden brown!
